HOME BUILDERS
ANNOUNCE SUPPORT OF FIBER TO THE HOME PROJECT
(Lafayette,
LA)—Duane
Boudreaux, 2005 AHBA President, has announced that the Acadian Home Builders
Association’s Board of Directors recently voted to support Fiber to the Home
(FTTH) as an inducement to economic development for the future of Lafayette.
Boudreaux
reports that board members have entertained presentations from both sides of
the issue and gathered research on their own to come to the ultimate
consensus. “While our board members expressed preference
for a public-private partnership, they think that the project is worthy of a “yes” vote on July 16th,” said Boudreaux.
AHBA, according to Boudreaux, is always interested and
supportive of economic development endeavors which could potentially bring new
businesses and new jobs to the area which in turn keep up the demand for new
housing. Keeping Lafayette on the
cutting edge of technology is an exciting prospect to stimulate both new
businesses and job growth.
Boudreaux
adds, “We’re proud to add our name
to the growing list of organizations that have come out in support of this
project.”
